The Mauser that is actually a Mosin: The Polish Wz. 91/98/26
Also known as the 91/98/25, this is one of only ~75,000 Mosin Nagants which were converted to 8mm Mauser by Poland in the 1920s!

A great video . I've never seen or heard of this variant.
Wonderful video Big Sam!
Did you win this in a Rock island auction last year?
Haha you did! I got the other wz91/98/26 in that auction
Another very GREAT video...I never knew these even existed
A curious variant. Thanks, Sam.
Great information,i barely heared any info about this mosins before
Thank you for your videos! Sam!!!
Thanks Big Sam!
I have a 1937 Russian 91/30 and a 1955 Chinese type 53 carbine the Chinese one is definitely not as high quality as the 91/30 but it’s not horrible but definitely not as nice tooling the receiver looks like crap next too my 1937
Damn I was gonna make this video
😅😂😅😂😅
I am all about Ballistol, and have destroyed some brushes on my new to me MAS 49/56. My Carcano's I got lucky on, just old Cos Moline that did it's job.
Thank you for the advice of cleaning it while it is hot. I know mine is safe to shoot, just not happy looking down the bore. Did not want to shoot it out but think that might be the key. Did not think to take my cleaning kit with me like that. Great idea!
Really helpful.....thank you very much!!!
The Mouse Nugget! Let the haters hate.
what about svt 40
I call mine mossies. My little cousion cant say mosin.
Dang he’s putting a lot of rounds into it
It can be hard to find an original M1891, especially with the Tzarist eagles, as they were ground off many times by users during Russia's civil war-John in Texas
❤ sick video, finally got my hands on an authentic pu...range ro come shortly. Thanks for all yhe great content Big Sam!
nice colletion....just started to get some nagants.
Random question: can a Mosin Nagant explode? If so under what conditions? Like I mean catastrophic failure where the gun exploding could be potentially fatal? I’m curious because I’m a little shy of Mosins for no particular reason, just nervous.
RUST HELL! CORROSION! TRASH IT!& DREAM ON REPUNZLE!
Everyone should have a bullet mold for every gun they shoot and intend to keep, so cast a Tin or Pewter bullet and use that for this as tin will hold it's shape and size better than dead soft lead ball and you can catalog all your gun bores.
I just picked up an unfired circle 11 M44. Does anybody know the barrel twist rate?
Thanks sam
You do this with welding
can you still fire this weapon?
This does not stop active rust. It temporarily delays further decay, but more rust will begin again in time. The only way to stop it is to covert iron oxide to ferro ferric oxide through heat
I inadvertently made a no-go gauge by hand loading for a 1943 mosin. I made ammo for it where after shooting brass for it, I would just resize it enough where it would chamber into it. I later learned the ammo will not fit any other mosins I've came across. That's as many as 5. I now use to to see if the gun's chamber is way out of spec. I know, not exactly a head space gunge,
Amazing info, yhabjs fir sharing Big Sam! Definitely makes the scope way more useful!
I would love to find out what mosin nagant I have what is a good email to send you pictures
Raptors and pu mosins, Big Sam rollin' in style.🎉😎
Nice nature background for this gun. Russo Japanese war vibes.
Exellant! I was thinking you had a new way. This is what I've done in the past. I'm open to different ways of caring for my guns and some think a brass bore brush will harm a bore. But, it won't! Light rust can be removed with white vinegar also.
Mine has a sniper barrel. Took a year to find that C cirle to be such a notation.
I use an empty brass shell to "Erase" the rust and also the brass brush. Nitro solvent to clean off the brass and some cold bluing to make it look nice. Something every gun owner should know.
how many lands and grooves are there and what caliber is that bullet?
The audience for this subject (I'm assuming) is not interested in the kindergartenish type tone the narrator and author seems to talk in as a natural base setting.
Did all Mosins come with bayonets?
to those of you saying you have never heard anyone call it a "mosin nagant" revolver, just search videos on nagant revolvers and you will find plenty of owners who picked them up at gun stores 10 to 20 years ago and call them mosin nagant revolvers because they don't know the history thats on it and thats what the label at the gun stores said since the store owners didn't know either. it was a simple error that a lot of people made in the past and has slowly been corrected over the years
what makes the effort of unmaching parts of any rifle ?
Welp i have a random update. I tryed out G96 g*n treatment and used it on a 1940 42 code K98. The bore is still dirty but that was partially due too not having the proper sized jags so i went with a eyelet style jag for patches. The bore is rusted abit as well but using a 338 or 375 brinze brush soaked in G96 really got alot of crud out of the barrel. It still needs to be cleaned some more along with me needing to grab some nylon brushes (my 8mm is worn out) but im happy with the results I got from just how much gunk was removed. Man i wish K98 bores weren't so filthy but thats part of surplus rifle owner journey especially with bring backs not being taken care of properly. I think G96 is now my go to cleaner over corrosion X on ugly military surplus rifle bores.
Enjoying your videos!!!
I own a Type 53 in great condition with some great "tiger striping" on the stock. Supposedly, it is a Vietnam bring back. Is it uncommon for these to have "tiger striping"?
Came for the Mosin stayed for the fainger
